Restoring and maintaining your GMC

Nicknamed "Jimmy" by American soldiers, the GMC CCKW is the 2½-ton 6x6 truck that supplied the Allies from the Normandy beaches to Germany. Restoring a GMC means bringing a pillar of 1944 logistics back to life: brakes, electrics, fuel, cooling, every system matters.

The CCKW 352 and 353 share most of their mechanics; mainly the wheelbase, body and some equipment differ. Every part has its reference: if in doubt about compatibility with your truck, send us your reference or a photo.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a GMC CCKW 352 and a 353?

The 352 has a short wheelbase, the 353 a long one; the 353 is by far the most common. The mechanics (engine, gearbox, axles, brakes) are largely shared.

Do the parts fit French Army GMCs?

Many GMCs served in the French Army after the war and may have been modified. Most parts remain common; check the reference and, if in doubt, contact us with a photo of your part.

Are your parts original?

Depending on the reference, we offer original NOS parts (New Old Stock: period parts, never fitted) and reproduction parts. For a specific part, just ask us.

I can’t find the part I need, what can I do?

First search by name or reference with the search box. If the part does not appear, write to us or call the shop: we will tell you whether we can find it.
