FIGHT ON THE BEACHES

This work is completely innovative, it is not yet another guide to the landing beaches, but a state of the forces and especially the means before the assault. On the German side, we discover serious weaknesses and first of all a deep schism in the command. Hitler, who believed in a landing in Normandy, initially helped in this effort by Rommel, came up against the plot of the generals - those who would strike on July 20 - to help the Allies in their landing project, the "plot for peace". In addition, the German defenses, hastily reinforced, will not play the expected role... On the Allied side, however, they had not anticipated the German reactivity and were close to suffering a terrible failure on Omaha Beach. But they had invented, in addition to a naval and amphibious force, described here, “new weapons”: special tanks and prefabricated ports. This unique work makes us discover what many still did not know, with ex
