WWII Military Vehicles

The three main US vehicles deployed during the Normandy landings.

Willys MB / Ford GPW / Hotchkiss M201

The famous "Jeep". MB = Willys (1941-45), GPW = Ford under license (G = Government, P = 80-inch wheelbase, W = Willys design). M201 = post-war French version built by Hotchkiss (1952-66) for the French army.

Dodge WC

Weapons Carrier 4×4 / 6×6, light truck used as ambulance, command car, gun tractor. Main series: WC-51, WC-52 (winch), WC-54 (ambulance), WC-56 (command), WC-57 (winch), WC-62/63 (6×6).

GMC CCKW

Heavy 2.5-ton 6×6 nicknamed "Jimmy". Main supply truck of the US Army. CCKW = General Motors model code: C (1939 design), C (cab type), K (front-wheel drive), W (dual rear axles).
